What we coat

Big slabs, done around your hours.

A shop or a warehouse floor is a lot of square footage that has to be back in use fast. The commercial base coat in the gallery went down with a second crew on the floor, and that is how the big ones get done.

Estimates are free, and done in person on your slab.

An empty commercial shop with the roller door open and grinding gear standing on the bare slab.
One of their own jobs. There is no stock photography anywhere on this site.

The job behind the photograph.

A commercial slab is the same three stages as a garage, at a scale where the schedule matters as much as the finish. The floor has to be cleared, ground, filled, coated and cured, and every day it is out of use costs the business something. So the job is planned around the hours the building keeps, and on the larger floors Ghost Ridge works alongside Beehive Epoxy so the base coat goes down in one pass rather than two.

The shop in the gallery is one of those: a wide open slab with the roller door up, grinding gear on the bare concrete first, then the base coat rolled out across the whole floor with the ceiling reflected in it. That reel is the hero footage on this site. Solid colour is the usual choice on a working floor because it is easy to clean and easy to see what is on it; flake is there when the floor is front of house as well.

The polyaspartic topcoat is the reason a coated shop floor survives forklifts, dropped tools and whatever gets spilled. It is chemical resistant and anti scratch, and it cures a great deal faster than an epoxy topcoat would, which is what gets the building back open. An anti slip additive goes in where the floor is going to be wet.

Finish

Solid colour or flake

Solid for a working floor, flake where customers walk on it.

Chemical resistant, anti scratch, and back in use sooner than epoxy over epoxy.

Free estimate

Get a number on the shop floor.

The space, roughly how big it is and what the concrete is doing now is enough to start with. Someone comes out, stands on the slab and gives you a number.

We only use this to get back to you about the estimate. Would rather talk? Call or text (801) 441-8054 and it gets answered.
